Sounds like a good way to get thru traffic.

Just how heavy are they? And are they laidened with 1" steel or 3/4?

      Just curious.

5/8" hardend steel. Proof from AP 30-06 full auto at 100 meters. She comes in at 8,000 lbs (just under) She has Big Axles not the same ones I see on regular Series Land Rovers. I believe they are called Salsbury Axles? They look alot like Dana 60s.

I will replace the frame since it is completely rotted (i dont drive her now) Also the Master Slave cylinder needs to be replaced. BUT I think I am just going to repower her with a Mercedes Diesel engine and possibly install a NP435 behind it. I would like to install Disc brakes but not sure if I can. The inline 6 in her now is in excellent shape and runs like a top. In fact its the absolute SMOOTHEST 6 cylinder I have ever seen or driven EVER! BUT an armored vehicle needs a diesel engine and a bit more power!

Why do I have a strange feeling that the words 'RAMMING SPEED!!' will be coming out of your mouth once you get a nice diesel in it?
