Best Practices for Adjusting and Maintaining Side View Mirrors

    Hi everyone,

I’ve been thinking about the importance of side view mirrors for driving safety and wanted to get your insights. How do you usually adjust your side mirrors to minimize blind spots? Are there any specific techniques or tools you recommend for keeping them clean and in proper alignment?

Also, for those who have upgraded to larger or convex mirrors, how has it affected your visibility and driving experience?

Any tips on preventing glare from headlights at night would also be appreciated.

    Looking forward to your advice!

Well, my '73 Series III has nice large door hinge mounted mirrors. The left one is adjusted so I can see just outboard of the side of the truck, the right one is adjusted to point downward more, and pointed so I can use it to back into my garage with just a couple of inches of clearance with the door opening. Then I can pretty well hug the garage wall on the right side and leave lots of room for both the landy and the second vehicle to fully open the driver's doors.
