    1961 88 Series 2 Chassis Replacement

I have only so far found older posts about this topic so apologies if there is. something more up to date I have missed. The chassis on my 61 Series 2 is rotten in multiple places beyond repair.

I know RN have chassis a selection on their website but has anyone got any recent experience selecting a brand, pricing, collecting/shipping and transplanting a chassis? (chances are I will also need to replace shocks and leaf springs at the same time!!)

Hello, I bought a Maer chassis from our hosts and it looks to be a really good quality build. I haven't started assembling it yet but I'm happy with my purchase. I also bought the UK parabolic springs and OME shocks to go with it!

One of the always knowledgeable hosts mentioned to me if I am not going for authenticity (I am not), that a series III chassis is a great option as it is. much stronger and more readily available. Minor adjustments might be needed but nothing significant like welding.

      Anyone done this?

Also wondering if anyone has tried replacing the rear quarter only - it 'looks' like only. surface rust in the front 3/4 of the chassis and while rear replacement might seem cheaper I am sure everything needed will likely add up fast and get close to a new full chassis?
