Heres a better angle of the leak. I also included a pic of the bent tie rod. Drivers side is fine...passenger side...not so fine. Looks like I'll also need a new seal at the front as well.

Also included a few pics of the side and rear fuel tank. Hope this helps out.

    From the front....

Your fan belt looks a little loose, your lower radiator hose clamp needs tightening, your driver side tire has a slow leak...

Seriously, though is the front diff supposed to be angled that much. That doesn't look normal.

that is how the coiler axles are set up.

I like the rear tank, looks like a cut and welded 109 SW tank, or perhaps completely custom.

most curious though is the complete lack of a transmission crossmember.

A Land Rover would never turn up to collect an Oscar. It'd be far too busy doing something important, somewhere, for someone."

From what the previous owner told me, the whole frame was custom as well as both fuel tanks. Same goes for the smugglers box under the drivers seat.

Actually that is pretty standard unless you have an ex-military Rover and thus both you and your passenger get to sit on a fuel tank!

Even if stuff isn't as 'custom' as you thought, you still have a great truck and if it isn't custom is easier to fix and or replace if there is a problem.

Hah thanks. Yeah I really don't care if it was custom or not. However I will say its been pretty difficult learning the ropes of a rover when its not original like most have. Having a hybrid can be pretty confusing especially when you are learning. Above the frame is a Series, below the frame is a D90. So it gets difficult figuring out who to ask questions to!

All apologies to the original series owners if I'm asking questions about something that does not pertain to a series, but do a d90.

Does your emergency brake work well?

When you have the driveshaft off, you might want to pull the emergency brake drum, too. It's hard to me to believe that you don't have gear oil on the shoes inside.

The ebrake works pretty good but doesn't seem to be tight or have a lot of tension when pulling up the ebrake handle. I'll have to look into that as well. Another thing for me to be aware of. thanks!

                        ahhh--you're already there.....

Or if you prefer you can go to PePBOys and when the pimple faced kid asks what vehicle you have and you reply Land Rover and he replies "Toyota?"
and You reply "no Land ROVER" and he still looks at you like you with the 30yard stare....

Call RN---when you tell them your problem they will reply "oh ya I saw your post--I got your parts right here"

For the record--I have NO affiliation with RN

Nice. Yes I've already experienced the idiots at Autozone. They couldnt' even get me the right size battery when I took the old one in. I like RN. They've helped me out quite a bit so far.

I once convinced a counter guy at Auto Zone that my old sIII truck was a special edition made only for "mutual of omahas wild kingdom." I went on to explain that all rovers that looked like mine were made for the show, and that mine was driven by Marlin Perkins himself. Yeah, enjoy messin with people.
