    Resurrected from a "parts truck"

What started out as a 1971 SIIA with no rear axle, no diesel motor and no front door, missing safari top and rear windows ....ended up as a 109 with a Ford 302 V-8, Borg-Warner T-18 4speed, Salisbury rear axle, 1-ton road springs and Wolf wheels with 9.00 x 16 tires (35.5" diameter), disc brakes on front axle, Warn M8000 winch with dual batteries.

I am in the process of saving up to purchase the Ashcroft High Ratio Transfer Case rig from RN to get the highway rpm's down a little more

Super Nice! Thanks for sharing and keeping another Rover on the road.

My 88" was also a "parts truck."
    61 II 109" Pickup (Restomod, 350 small block, TR4050)
66 IIA 88" Station Wagon (sold)
    66 IIA 109" Pickup (Restomod, 5MGE, R380)
67 IIA 109" NADA Wagon (sold)
    88, 2.5TD 110 RHD non-hicap pickup

-I used to know everything there was to know about Land Rovers; then I joined the RN Bulletin Board.

Welcome to the RoversNorth forum! Absolute sweetness looking Series hybrid rebuild. You know that next up, someone (jp and myself included) is going to ask you for all those lusty build photos...

        Very Nice!!

Honestly I have never seen a 'bug eye' 109 SW. Are those the original fenders?

        Brent
        1958 107 SW - Sold to a better home
        1965 109 SW - nearly running well
1966 88 SW - running but needing attention
        1969 109 P-UP

Thx for the positive feedback I have received....I have been asked for a total cost and time for the rebuild. Time wise it was about a year and a half of mainly weekends and evenings (much to my wife's delight !!)

Cost was not too bad, I would say roughly $6000 plus the cost of the rig purchase itself (under $2000). The Rover community was great and I was able to source a lot of used stuff (Ebay)and restore it or swap for items that I removed from the vehicle. Of course lot of dollars spent at RN, DAP and BP...but it was well spent.

A huge cost was machining the adapter plate for the Borg-Warner T-18 transmission into the stock series transfer case and modifying the T-18 mainshaft so that I could use the LR gear.

The rest was my fabrication and welding and some great advice from other LR owners and Terri Wakeman's rebuild site (thank you ).

Original non-bugeye fenders but I had to mount the lights there for a bigger radiator to fit on the breakfast
            Thx
