Outback challenge or some other gruelling race in in OZ if I remember correctly.

Don't think Red Rhino is still in business. . .

No then he would have finished- IIRC the LRs that finished had Nissan GR axles F+R not Rover.

Here's the link I found. Is it old? Pretty cheesy site, but I need some outer wing panels (and there were some listed).

                  This one finished.

He's done a Toyota conversion on his axles. Toyota centers and Rovertracks axle shafts. No axle related failures.

Yep no Lan Rover Diffs or 10 spline or 24 spline Land Rover shafts or Land Rover CVs... I think Rhino was running the old 10 spline outers- the ones that break easily but are dead simple to change.

Anyone got the story on why the US Disco is getting dragged on a bonnet?

They had a really bad week which finally concluded with a broken swivel ball while doing the night motorkhna. While completing the day stages the Americans made up a sled out of logs for the front and removed the other wheel so it could be skulled dragged easier. We attempted to get it onto the bonnet to stop it digging into the sand but his didn't work. In the end we had 6 winches connected at once to slowly to steer the disco onto the tray truck.

It was a very entertaining recovery

What is the old myth? that the 10 spline stuff was designed to be weak so it would blow up before something more difficult to change did???
