Yes, this is nice looking. The white covered vintage Cibiés, Yokohama Geolanders, wider rims, flung mud and burly rope really capture the flavor too.

It was his toy when he lived in the UK- It is a fun truck- it has a 3.5l SD1 V8 in it, RR diffs, Rear detroit- Typical UK plaything.

The Rims are regular US spec 15" ones though- Came off of my old series 3 or maybe one of my IIa's. He still has a set of military rims and tires somewhere but the current tires are for play.

first two are PA Blanchards work - they do some interesting work with ex-MOD. Cant recall the specifics on the IIAs, but resto'd to a high level for US buyer(s). Heres a few more of the same trucks.

The second two are BAOR 109s - FFR and the '77 109 CL - not GS as I originally posted - I currently have. Its a German Spec Civvy that spent its time in Dusseldorf (least it was full of squaddie trash from there). Pretty clean low use truck

                Few others

I saw a Blanchard restored 109 GS in LA about 5 years ago- it was at a classic car dealer. It was done very well, probably the nicest UK sourced truck I've seen.

Oh well, because someone else started it I'm going to have to post up my green beastie. At the moment she doesn't look this good as she is all stripped down getting rewired. She'll be pretty again in a few months once I've got her new tyres mounted and a new canvas on there.

                        Cheers

luckyjoe, that is a very clean looking rover you have

GM, that makes a hummer wet its self, very nice a 101 fc right ? I think a lightweight or a 101 will be my next rover, and I haven't even gotten Ludwig running right yet

I agree with keeping the color scheme the way it is. Looks great!
Not sure about that, but doing some investigation recently most had aluminumum rear tanks with steel front tanks. mine is long gone (badly rusted) and will be replaced during the rebuild.

                              And thanks.

That photo was taken shortly after the PO's importation. All nice and cleaned-up by Blanchards. At the time they really had access to the cream of the crop, low-mileage UK trucks. Mine is a nice, rock-solid example of a period truck in original condition, not a restoration. I'll find a good shot of it today - a little more weathered, as all LR's should be...
