What is a running , slightly beat up 109 3 door worth?

    Hi everyone

Looking for some guidance on what a running, functioning 1972 109 series 111 rover is worth?

I see them all over ebay.co.uk for about $2,000 US but factoring in shipping , tax, transport that is another 2-3K easy. It seems like the rovers on ebay here ate more in the $7-10k and up range

I found one here in the midwest that might fit my needs. It is was brought over a few years back from the UK- a UK "farm truck" that runs, drives, had the rear frame replaced(still some rust on the frame but structurally sound) with body dents, ok bulkhead, ok interior, all electrical works, a decent spray paint job and a hard top.

The nice thing is it drives, runs, starts, semi daily driver.

There is a "pulling" issue when hard braking and I suspect some brake work might be needed

I am interested to get a sense as to what it may be worth

    Is $3500 a steal ? Is $4-5K fair range?

    Thanks,
    Tim

I generally avoid british trucks. Better to spend 7 on a solid rig than 4500 on a sketchy one and have to put another 2500 into fixing it (PLUS YOUR TIME)

A good example is this truck:

This was a british truck near my house. It was in AWFUL condition. What wasnt rusted was bondoed. Sold for 6800 on ebay. New owner will be sorely disappointed. Buy one from the west coast of the US

          X2.

Its almost a scam in a lot of ways, they will paint everything and make it look "new"

When you get it you realise they just painted over the rust.

It looks like a rather lucrative deal though, buy one for peanuts, put a few dollars (or GBP) into it to make it look nice, and then sell it to someone in the US who "wants" one badly enough to pay for it.

Find one in the US, go to see it if you feel the least bit fishy about it.

No one wants to pay preimum for crap. Unless you have a poo fetish...

            Hello Tim,
I would 3rd the avoidance of a Truck from the UK..Nothing but headaches with the rust issues..
I might be willing to part with my 3 dr. for the right price..
It would come with the truck cab, complete hard top and a 3/4 canvas..

Your 109-What are you asking for it?

              Marc,

What are you asking for it?
Do you have pics and description of condition, running order, etc?

              Thanks
