    1968 Marshall ambulance

Anyone know a source for the ambulance silencer # 577819? And how it is different from a regular 109 muffler? Also I had broken teh lay shaft in the gearbox a few years ago, wnatto get around to rebuilding it now, and found out the serial number is marked our with SSSSSSS, so I can not read it. Any guess what suffix a military gearbox in a '68 would be? thanks, Jim

As a fellow ambulance driver (mine's a 66), I would suggest the following.

    1. Put in a SW exhaust and add a SW tank for the long drives when you'll need 40+ gallons. This is what I am doing.
    2. Take it to a exhaust shop and have them fab up something similar.
    3. I am pretty sure its the same design as a 109 3 door. I have swapped out a 109 MOD pickup (the part from our hosts) and ambulances were just 109 pickups with the back body removed when they were sent to Marshalls.
