Picked these 2 rovers up this weekend...

    Hello all,
New to the forum and new to Land Rovers. I have owned old four wheel drives in the past, but have been looking for a good Series for a little while. I just went and picked up these 2 rovers in South Carolina this weekend. I am excited about bringing more life out of them and will post pics of the progress.

I like the way you haul!

How hard was all that weight to stop?

Not too bad. I was pulling with that F650 with a Cummins 5.9L. Really it pulled fine. Hills created a little lag, but not too much. It was an almost 800 mile round trip, all in one day.

Man that's tough. I've done a 700 miler in one day. What really made it bad was that the vehicles had to be loaded manually with a comealong.

          David:

It looks like you live in Birmingham. There are several Series owners in town. I'd love to see your new acquisitions. PM me or e-mail me at cberdy@sirote.com if you're in Birmingham.

          Thanks,

          Chris

It was a long day. I got one of them fired up today and drove around the parking lot. Seems like one of the brake shoes is sticking a little or ebrake. Engine purrs like a kitten and the tranny shifts smoothly!

I'll let you know. The one that was up on the truck has a pretty rotten frame, but could be a good candidate for a frame off restoration. My first priority is to get the other one tuned up and on the road...

Definately the truck for the job. I got a couple '06 650 Crew Cabs with CAT C7's specd at 300 hp 860 tq. in front of Allison MD3060's w/ double overdrive. We had the electronic speed limiter riased and let me tell you.. those things are monsters, and not too bad of a ride either! thedieselstop.com is a nice place to hang out if you have a Ford diesel.

Oh and a nice 109's too!
