    electric fuel pump.

It's a long shot for a sturday afternoon but does anyone have a part # or at least a gpm and pressure spec for an electric fuel pump for a 2 1/4L 88.

My old mechanical unit failed after many years and miles. I went to put in an overhaul kit and discovered the seal between the mechanical lever and the diaphragm cavity is not included so I'm dead in the water.

If I can get a pump at the local auto shop I'll be a happy man.

    Cheers

Just tell them it's for a carburated 4 cylinder. They should be able to get you a facet style fuel pump that will give you around 3-7 psi. I wouldn't recommend this as a long term solution but they are cheap and readily available. If you want an electric permently then search around for a good (more expensive) pump. Don't worry about GPH as a 2.25L won't be starved with any electric pump. I would recommend a pressure regulator as they are inexpensive and will allow you to tune the pressure in to give you the best results.

I run a electric fuel pump on my 88 with the stock 2.25 petrol, it is a low psi pump and I highly recomend running at least one fuel filter if not two, and if the electric pump stops working because it got a chunk of gunk in it than shoot some compressed air thru it

My SIII was originally fitted with a UK-spec 2.6 petrol engine and included an electric fuel pump mounted on the right chassis in addition to the engine-driven fuel pump. I don't see a listing for this electric fuel pump in our host's catalog, but it looks much like this:

        --Mark

        1973 SIII 109 RHD 2.5NA Diesel

0-54mph in just under 11.5 minutes
        (9.7 minutes now that she's a 3-door).
