Wanted to introduce "Popeye"(a Poppy-red Bugeye) to this R.N. "Bugeye Thread". This 88 is mostly original, solid and driven 1969 SIIA 88, Vin# 244-35998-F, BMIHT Certificate #2021/5450, Location: Helena, MT.,
Owners: Mike & Toni Atwood
email: goclassic1931@gmail.com
I have focused on a mechanical preservation restoration with some modern updates (Petronix dizzy, Alt, Weber, Wolfs, larger tires, etc.)to make this a solid dependable driver. This truck has spent its entire U.S. life in MT., used for over a decade as a business delivery rig. It is a proud member of Rocky Mnt Rovers group based in Helena, MT.
*Hope this is sufficient info to be listed on the registry. If you need more please direct me on how to provide. Thank you for doing this. mike
Mike, That VIN is on the list and indicated as being in Washington state back in 2021.
The latest list is in previous post, #256
I'll get info updated. Thanks for taking the time to provide update.

Dave, apparently P.O. posted with "Craigslist ad in Spokane, WA"? There is no Kalispell, WA. I purchased the truck in April of 2021 from the owner in Kalispell, MT. This truck has always lived in Montana. All good. Thanks. Mike.
Vin# 244 36 133F Bugsy. Mostly original 1969 SIIA 88. Located in Portland, Oregon. I am the third owner. From what I have gathered, I am within a few miles of the original owner who purchased it in 1969. I have yet to reach out, but planning to soon. I am sure he would get a kick out of seeing it. British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate number 2023/4071. Date built: March 13th 1969. Despatched March 17th 1969. Dealer: British Leyland, Portland, Oregon, USA. It has always lived in Portland, as far as I know. Owner: Tyler Gourley
EDIT: This one is already on the list. I had looked at the 6 as a 5.
Just reporting on this Bugeye. 24436302F. It was at a car show in Marblehead MA. It had a for sale sign. Anyone interested PM me and I can share. Do not want to post public. Truck runs but would need work. Missing some original items like rear signals are aftermarket and in the tub all the covers for the wiring and fuel filler are missing. Bulkhead needs work. Has some bush fix welding to keep the door hinges happy.
I wanted to share my latest addition as well. 24435149F , 1969 Feb first registration in Germany , assumed to be ex German border patrol (Bundesgrenzschutz). Needs some work but will do my best!
Thanks for the info!!!
Back in 2005 I had communicated with Herman Vlothuizen regarding Bugeyes in the Netherlands. It appears that the Dutch Marines
were the main source for the Bugeyes. I am trying to locate a 109 Bugeye that was in the Netherlands and shipped to Great Britain.
'trying to verify that it was a Dutch Marines unit also. There have been pictures of German Border Guards with Bugeyes.
Any info on any other Bugeyes you might discover would be of great interest to me. If eMailing me directly is easier: bugeyeregistry@gmail.com
Would you happen to know of a contact for the Holland Land Rover Club or any other clubs that I could contact for info?
