    transmission: installing split ring

Hoping someone could tell me how to put a new split ring on a suffix B C layshaft? http://www.roversnorth.com/store/sea...&Issubmit=True

in the picture it shows it as two pieces but it comes as one piece land rover part # 239272

This is all I could find. May shed some light on the issue.

      Daurie,
Thank you so much for the response and the help. i contacted RN and they told me to stick the new split ring in a vice and brake it in two so that it could be placed on the layshaft.

You're welcome! Glad I could help.

You may already have a manual but if not heres a good site to download it from. Theres a recent thread that has another link in it as well and the quality may be better but this link is the one I downloaded mine from and is fine.

Slightly scoring the split ring may help in getting a clean and straight break. I'd try finding the thinnest cutoff wheel I could for a dremel and use that. Only score slightly.. not a deep gouge. Good luck!!
