    Resistor

    Installing a new Electronic Ignition and I want to replace the Resistor between the ignition switch and coil. On a multimeter it reads 1 ohm. I went to buy a new resistor and found they sell 1 ohm resistors in 5 10 & 25 watts. Sound familiar to anyone? Do we even need the resistor? Instructions on the EI say to use the resistor if there is one, but I can't find the values anywhere.
    Thanks in advance.

    P=I*V = 1ohm X 12V = 12 watts minimum. Go for the 25 watt resistor.

    I don't know if you need it though.

      I bought a resistor for an early 70's Chrysler electronic ignition system. ('73 Dodge 6cyl p/u to be exact) I don't know what wattage or resistance values it has, but it has been working on my system now for about 3 years. Pertronix is the set up I went with.

        There is no external resistor. At least my S3 didnt have that.
