    Tailgate chains help

    Hi Folks,
Can any one send me a picture of where the tailgate chains mount on a series 3 88. I have offered them up to evey where I can see is plausable and it just doesn't look right so I'm either missing a part or just don't see it.

    Thanks
    Nic

look underneath the car in the rear wheelwells toward the back of the rear bed. look at up in the corner on the backside of about where they are mounted in the pic posted above. you will see a stiffening bracket spot welded to the inside of the rear bed (under the car not inside the car) that has two holes in it for the factory lads so they know where to stick the drill. drill through those for 1/4" bolts and the factory tailgate chain mounts will line right up and be in the correct spot.

A Land Rover would never turn up to collect an Oscar. It'd be far too busy doing something important, somewhere, for someone."

Here's an enhanced view of Bostonian's pic.
        61 II 109" Pickup (Restomod, 350 small block, TR4050)
66 IIA 88" Station Wagon (sold)
        66 IIA 109" Pickup (Restomod, 5MGE, R380)
67 IIA 109" NADA Wagon (sold)
        88, 2.5TD 110 RHD non-hicap pickup

-I used to know everything there was to know about Land Rovers; then I joined the RN Bulletin Board.
