69 IIA STARTER SOLENOID

Getting ready to mount the starter solenoid on the bulkhead. I have found two different ways of mounting - both ways are 180 degrees different. Which way is the correct factory mounting? The solenoid does not have the push in type activator. Do the wires attach on the bottom or top. My old one attached on the bulkhead with the wires on the bottom side. Thanks in advance.

Most of the late IIa and Ser III's I have seen, have the wiring on top, with rubber boots on the wiring for weather protecion.
