new to forum - 1982 Land Rover Lighweight

Hi, new to the forum. Live in St. Pete, FL and have a 1982 Land Rover Lightweight and a 1999 Land Rover Discovery II. Like the Disco, but love the Lightweight.

It's still fairly original with the 1990 Desert Storm tan paint on the exterior and green MOD paint on the interior. Have listed all the modifications I've made on the website listed in my signature below. Also have a link that details my new 1967 m416 trailer I'm building...

That's great! I'm rebuilding a SIII Lightweight as we speak. I'm planning on doing the Desert Storm paint scheme (tan outside, green inside), so mine will end up looking very similar to yours - although I intend to paint my wheels tan as well.

          Nice!

I have two m416's I'm working on. Load rating is 500lbs, but I've had 2000 in it. Still running on it's 1960's tires!

If you really want to see a sweat trailer set-up contact Landy67 on Guns and Rovers. Dan has to cat's a** for a trailer setup.

Welcome to the Forum. Your Lightweight looks terrific!

There are a couple of large Land Rover clubs in your state. They have submitted articles to the Rovers North News on off road events that certainly look like fun.

                Enjoy!

                  Cool, another lightweight. Welcome!

I picked mine up in Jacksonville, FL but it was originally a Canadian truck.

I joined the Florida Land Rover Club, but admittedly haven't made it to an event yet. Looks like a great group of people and Rovers though.

Found the m416 trailer on Ebay. Seems like they go for somewhere between $500 to $1,200 depending on condition. I was luck to find one in relatively good shape (surface rust only) that was about 3 hours from me in FL so the stars aligned nicely.

I'm really tempted to paint the Lightweight now to match the trailer since that turned out so well, but there's something about the rougher look that I like.
