ACR Power Plus 2.25 performance upgrades

Has anyone used Automotive Component Remanufacturing LTD products?

I have been interested in these guys for some time, but wanted to get others opinions. I have a series 3 88" and have been looking to put their performance cam and stage 2.1 head to get more power.
    Thanks

There was a thread on GnR about them, dealt w/ both ACR and Turner..... had a lot of info, folks from both companies were involved.... it was awhile back, you might have to search in the archives for it...

My truck came with a 2.5 diesel block with the ACR gas head, cam and SU carb. The thing ran like a raped ape!

Only problem, I think it was used in too many street light drag races and had developed a knock shortly after I got it. It also got about 10 mpg and 100 miles per quart, but boy was it fast.

Was that on a UK thread orignally where Turner and Roland went back and forth?

Basically Turner argued diminishing returns and potential problems, as the ACR stuff starts at one end of the spectrum.

Roland, ACR, argued that the block, since designed on a Diesel, was more than up to the challenge and that his modifications were effective and up to the challenge.

In any event, price the package. I did and it was stupid money before shipping.
