Series 3 Front Brake Line Question

I purchased a set of new brake lines from our hosts for my Series 3 Lightweight. As you know, on the S3 there is a short metal brake pipe connecting the front wheel cylinder to the flex hose. It looks like this short metal pipe has the wrong pipe flare on one end.

I have verified the part numbers as correct:
537763 = short metal pipe
RTC5903 = flex hose

I have attached a picture showing my issue. The silver line in the picture is the one in question. The black line is for the other end of the flex hose (and both ends of the flex hose look exactly the same). Note how the black line has a female taper for the flex hose male taper to seat into, but the silver line has a male taper just like the flex hose.

Did I get a pair of incorrectly made 537763 lines?

When making inverted flares you first make a bubble flare, perhaps they neglected the second forming operation. All you need to install it is:

I have a nice Snap-On double flare tool. I have done double flares in the past, so I understand making the bulge first, then using the 'pointy' tool to make the female flare. However, the female flare on the black line almost looks like it is machined versus formed. Will I be OK just perfoming the second operation of a double flare?

Also, since you obviously know what you are talking about:
The 'bulge' end that is typical on the ends of the lines where they attach to the mater cylinder - are these simply the same bulge as the first step in making a double flare?
I will still be using my original metric threaded master cylinder, so I need to swap my metric fittings onto my new lines and I want to make sure I am doing it right.

OK, so I did the second operation of the double flare on the 537763 pipes and they look good, so that is taken care of.

For my MC pipes: I have made a bunch of practice 'bulge' flares, but none of them end up looking like the RN-supplied lines. Since RN makes their own lines, they said that they could make me whatever lines I need. So, I'll just send them my metric fittings and have them use them to make up some correct lines.
