    The challenge would be getting the cut exact enough so the seal would fit exactly. Otherwise, you'll have another opportunity for leaks.
    That's hilarious! The opening isn't all that exact. Plus, the seal will shrink after a few months opening up a gap in the butt joint.
    If you hold the glass up to the coachroof and then use a fat magic marker to draw a line around it you'll be fine. Leave about 3/16 all the way around and you are golden. For the truly a**l rententive, measure the thickness of the seal's middle between where the glass goes and where the metal goes. That will be your gap width glass vs coachroof hole.

    It is much easier with the roof on sawbucks.
