    Greasing Freewheeling Hubs

I was just reading a post from March 08 on free wheeling hubs and whether or not engaging them regularly is crucial or not. (Divided opinion, but basically consensus was that it is difficult for 90WT to even get thoroughly through the bearings/assembly of each freewheeling hub from the swivel ball.)

    My question...

I've converted from oil bath to grease in my swivels, and as I restore my Warn M11s, my plan is to pack the needle bearings with grease in the same way and be done with it.

I guessing others who have switched to greasing their swivels have necessarily done the same with their freewheeling hubs? Any problems? I'd hate to ruin them given finding parts is supposedly difficult.

    Thanks

I assume that you are not only converting the swivels to grease, but also the wheel bearings. If that's the case, then I would just pack the M11 bearings with grease as well. That's what I did on my IIa when I went to greased wheel bearings with M11s.

Yes, did pack the bearings. Good to know this is OK. Thanks.
