    Diff Guard

Has anyone every installed one of these?

I have a Stage One front axle and it appears that I have to remove the tie rod to squeeze this into place. I wanted to check to see if anyone knew a trick to do it without disassembling the steering.

I had the axle off the truck when I did it. My method prevented taking the steering off, but not sure if it's any shorter for you!

Yes, you also need to drop one end of the Panhard rod when fitting same to a Defender or Discovery/Classic Range Rover.

I had one (of slightly different configuration) off this weekend to clean the mud out. The design might be significantly different however because I was able to tap it lightly with a mallet to get it to squeeze by. Only would work with the steering dead ahead however.

FYI, these do collect dirt so remember to hose it out regularly or pop it loose every so often to keep the dirt and subsequent rust out.
