Help identify this mystery Soft Top part - photo attached!

    Help identify this mystery Soft Top part - photo attached!

    This rubber pad is designed to be riveted in the center of the hoopset windscreen rail. The rail is not predrilled for the rivets.

    Question for the group: What is this for?

    I did not install this piece when I installed my hoopset ten years ago. Since then:

    Said hoopset has not fallen off;
    The engine has not exploded;
    I am not leaking oil any more than usual.

    So.....what's it for???? I gotta know.

      That's easy. Look at old Land Rover sale literature. All the soft tops have that rubber block on the windscreen frame. Why?

      To protect your bonnet when the windscreen is folded down...
