Here are the two types I have in my spare pile.

If the thick base is the one you need I can send it along. I should also have a clamp.

I hope you find the cure to this problem, because Jason (Bostonian) is suffering from the same issue.

FWIW, he changed out the distributor and had the same problem with the replacement, so I suspect that thie issue lies below the distributor assembly/drive shaft.
I just saw this. Glad to see this entire thread with a solution! I'll be doing this to mine for sure..

          Bostonian1976,

I have another thick base and clamp if you need one.

Almost 16 years later, I’m dealing with a same issue. 1966 UK Military 88 that was in the HAC pulling canons in parades around London. I took out the distributor because it somehow broke when I was updating the points. The bottom tabs broke. I got a new one from Rovers North and it’s too short. I believe the PO must have hacked the original Lucas to make it work.

Through a few different forums I found other parts that are only available today from John Craddock. The older mounting plate, the drive gear that attaches to the bottom, etc. I’m waiting for parts now. I did find an ADC1 on ebay here in the States. Is it because it’s a UK model? A military model from the late 60s? I’ve been stuck and want to get back on the road but I’m also curious about why this has been such a mystery.
