Actually the first time I ever picked up my wife in my Rover was the day after I met her. We drove around Ocean Park Maine in a snowstorm. Months later I found out that she thought it was on of the most romantic times she's ever had.

Now, once I finish the house out here I need to start building her a Rover!

"I'm hot. When are you going to make it so I can open my window?"

Followed, three months and one rusty door-top-ectomy later, by:

"I'm cold. When are you going to buy a window for my side?"

                  Never satisfied.

My wife's first ride in a series rover was when we went to get it in hamburg germany.

When I broke the news to her:
"We're going to germany to get what!?!"

When we got there and saw it:
"IS THAT GOING TO MAKE IT THE WHOLE WAY!!!?"

                    during the trip:
"ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!" (yes she slept during most of the driving and it had R1 tractor tire tread pattern.)

6 Days and 1200 miles later:
"That was the best trip I've ever been on"

We drove the Mosel river for a couple days, hit Zurich and Milan then caught the ferry to Palermo and finished up at our house outside Aci Reale in Sicily.

                      Is it raining in here?

(It was in my ambulance and the wife was sitting next to me. Our dogs had their heads throught the partition window and were drooling. Everytime she looked up the dogs pulled their heads back, when she looked forward they re-inserted their heads.)

The best one I have heard, personally, is "can I operate this wiper motor myself?"

"I feel like everybody's looking at us; it's like having a mohawk, except you can park and get out"

                              She didn't last long

"I'm glad this isn't your only car" -followed by a story about some guy that only had a jeep. She didn't last long either.

After seeing the flyscreens in the dash vents: "I feel like I'm going to get hit by julienned bugs"-- (she did actually)
After taking the hood down "you know it's going to rain now"-- (it did)
After putting the hood back up "you know its going to stop raining out"-- (it did)

                              Sigh...redheads all of em...
A Land Rover would never turn up to collect an Oscar. It'd be far too busy doing something important, somewhere, for someone."

Me: "I'll be in a blue Land Rover and pick you up at 7."
Her: "Oh, Sweet! You have a Range Rover!?"
