Does anyone have pictures of struts they may have mounted to the liftgate on their hardtop?

Sorry I do not have a pic. but I used a Classic Range Rover strut and made plates to mount it to the lid and body work.

Lift strut
StrongArm lift part number 4761, less than $20 at the local parts store. qty 2 reqd.
IIRC, it comes with the ball/socket joints. Also has rear window defrost connections
Hatch bracket is scrap 1/8" mild steel angle with a couple 17/64" clearance holes, attaches to the existing latch bolts, longer 1/4x28 bolt needed.
Body bracket is 1/8 Aluminum channel 1" wide x 2-1/2" long, using existing frame bolt or rivet holes.
Lifts are strong and holds clamshell in the up postiton while off road.
Good luck.

I too think that I may be doing this as there are times that I wish I had a regular door on the back of my 88 because of having to set the supports in place to load or unload anything.
Having those struts would definitely make things easier!1958 107 SW - Sold to a better home
1965 109 SW - nearly running well
1966 88 SW - running but needing attention
