    Brake boost

While working on my carb I noticed that there is a large(maybe 1/2") tube for a vacuum line. In trying to figure out where it goes I noticed that there is no connection to my brake booster. In fact there is a large hole at the top of the booster that looks like it should house a fitting for this very purpose.

Looking at the online catalog here it shows that part as being included in the booster. I assume I can simply add some brass fittings to get this connected again. Anyone know the thread size?

There's a check valve that should be there, which our hosts carry here: http://www.roversnorth.com/store/p-1...rvo-unit-.aspx

Thanks Rbonnet, I did not see a parts break out in the diagram so I missed the listing for the valve.

The elbow off the carb is for a pvc valve. The hex nut on the intake manifold is what is used for the booster brake. There is a double male ended fitting that screws in there and a metal pipe that threads on. That is then connected by a rubber hose which connects to a plastic elbow fitting which is screwed into the booster. I am not by my truck right now, but could email you pics this weekend if you need-just PM me.

Actually, it looks like the elbow is off the adapter plate and not the carb. My PCV goes into the intake elbow from the air cleaner.

You are missing your PVC valve. The setup you have has bypassed it. When I said carb, I was referring to the adapter plate attached to the CARB(which I believe is mounted 180 degrees off on your truck) as the pvc valve sits on the other side of the carb.

Found a picture. Here is what it is supposed to look like. If you need more specific shots, let me know.

Thanks Bertha. Makes a lot more sense now. My PCV valve is missing and I am not sure I even have the oil filler tube with the proper fitting.

You have a combo of a few things. I would try and source out a base without the PVC outlet for the carb as well as an earlier carb elbow that has only one outlet tube. It will clean things up in your otherwise very tidy engine bay.
