      Meat,

If it makes you feel better, yours is one of the better looking SI's I've seen.

Here's my 1951 80". It has the 1.6L engine and has been bronze green since the day it was born. The silly look makes them the coolest looking rovers. My girlfriend actually prefers driving in it over my 2A..

Wow, I guess i'll be copying you! mine is sand instead of the bronze green though. Are those series II axle cases? Judging by the way your exhaust is routed, i'm guessing you have the 2liter? This is on pangolin's website right? I can't wait to get some serious goodies from Ike. This is some serious motivation to get back to crankin on mine!

My SI is a bit of a mutt. SII axles, 2.5 NA diesel engine, Ashcroft t-case.

Yep, there is a picture of it on Ike's site, with the windshield folded down. Ike made the front bumper for me!

I don't know Ike, as a 101 owner I find the series 1 a bit too curvatious and aerodynamic for my taste.

ahh, the diesel explains the exhaust routing. I have really wanted to route my exhaust that way, so i've been searching for a swan neck exhaust manifold.. but due to the reputation they have, I'll probably be trying something else.

                          Okay, Okay,

they aren't that silly looking. I guess an amphicar is worse.

I'll keep studying them, and maybe the S1's will grow on me.

Why is it that when I look at that photo I think that if you just panned right you would see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and folks in their colorful stripped woolen swimsuits?

Here in Upper Canada, near Kingston Ontario, we drive our 52 ex MOD 80", we're putting back together our '53 80", our '54 86" is sitting waiting for our attention, we're breaking our '55 86" (previous owner managed to destroy the solid frame); and we have some other Series One bits, and some other Series Rovers.
