    24 spline wheel hub bearings

When I pulled my front wheel hubs on my 82 SIII 109 I noted both inner and outer bearings are the same? She has the late rover front axle 24 spline out/ 10 spline in half shafts and the heavy duty wheel hubs, identical to the ones on my salisbury rear axle.

The question is should the inner and outer wheel hub bearings be the same? Could they be the same as the early Defender 110's?

The RN ouline page notes the inner bearings upto 1972 and outer bearing upto 1980, but I don't see a reference to inners or outers for later dates. These wheel ubs do use the smaller wheel seal, not the one that comes in the seal kit.

Yes, the inner & outer bearings are the same - part number RTC3429. The seals are RTC3511. The bearing & seal kit is RTC3537.

Just went through this on my Lightweight.

From October 1980 on they went Metric & used the Range Rover bearings
Both inner & outer bearings are RTC3429. The new inner hub seal is RTC3511. The O ring that goes under the dust cover is RTC3516

These are current Land Rover part numbers. If you wish to purchase them from RN I'm sure they can translate Land Rover part numbers into their in house part numbering system.

Oh well, I at least provided independent verification. AND we both did it with current Land Rover part numbers from a country where those parts were never used on a new Series truck.

I'll have to work on my typing speed.
