For Plattsburgh?
A friend of mine has a lightweight that was used by the Royal Marines in Norway etc and it was fitted out with an Arctic heater in addition to the flat Smith's on the bulkhead. When he was in the UK he sold off the Arctic heater because he didn't need it there- now in NY it would prove more useful...Comment

If you are running a soft top go for a MOD artic heater, a little pricey but worth it. Is you Smiths heater working or missing? You will need a radiator muff and a engine pre-heater. Oh yeah, dress warmly.

I fitted a Mansfield heater to my Series III Air Portable, with a late IIa interior dist box.
Cost some bucks, but worth it as I was resonablly warm during 2 Vermont winters.
