Looking for 10" here in Richmond, should be fun with all the Southern drivers down here. Will be the first time I had the Series running for a snowfall, can't wait.

Doing the Christmas Bird Count with the Audubon Society Sunday so I'll be have her out on forest roads earning her keep...should be pretty.

Jokes aside, I'm with you - looking forward to getting the Rover in the snow. I even drove it to work today on the chance that the would start sooner than expected.

The snow about an hour north of Baltimore is not quite knee deep, but it is supposed to snow all night. It is a very dry snow and plows easily, but I expect the wind will cause the driveway badly drift. Here are the two 109's:





I think we will try to get out tomorrow and drive a few local roads of interest. I just swapped the soft top for the pickup cab on my 109 this week.

We got about 8-10" here in WV. My In-laws live at a higher elevation and got about 20". I went muzzleloader hunting and brought home a Rover full of White Oak and a trailer full of Black Walnut logs. The interstate was interesting - 16 forward speeds and all of them slow, but I rolled merrily along through the icy slop nonetheless. Good times.

Went out on one of my favorite trails this afternoon...it looked a LOT narrower! Lots of overhanging pines...each time I walloped one the windscreen was covered with snow. Of course I would slip and bang up my knee (ouch). finally got home and really decided that it IS fun but Im much happier with No snow on the trails! We are due for 20 inches!

The Rover behaved beautifully on the roads through town though. Never know there was any snow at all. Plows...who needs PLOWS!

Had a great day in the snow with the Series III here in Richmond. We have between 10-14 inches.

The Rover really did fantastically. It was neat to be in something so "manual" - no antilock brakes, no power steering, no limited slip... There were some challenging moments too, a lot of near sideways slides, but never out of control. I know that must sound oxymoronic but it really just floated around and when it wanted to go sideways it was easy to correct, much more so than anything I have driven before. I found it useful to be in a pretty high gear at low speeds, over drive and some choke helped a lot!

I was on call to pick up our critical employees for the hospital but my wife insisted that no one would want to ride in the rover - fortunately we coordinated with the local jeep clubs and had plenty of support.

I have to add, my heater works well! In fact there were many times in 29 degrees that I had to turn it off and crack a vent.

The coolest part are the christmas lights powered off my inverter
