I thought the exact same thing and bidding is not even finished yet. My jaw dropped when I saw this one, not a series truck though it needs some rescuing. Again not knocking it, just surprised.

        Auction next weekend...

Not sure if this has been posted before (I did a quick check, didn't see it but may have missed it...if so, sorry). Here's the link to the auction site (it's the winery auction)

In the second group of photos are these beauties just waiting to be rescued...

            Another Craig's list rover

This advert is for two IIa 88s in Providence RI- I am thinking he is way too high in his asking price...

I've got two 1966 parts trucks in about the same shape for a third of the price if anybody is interested.

Here is one on the local want ads. Went and looked at it this last week. Needs new frame - existing one needs new rear crossmember and will need cut way up to find good metal. Has bi-metal corrosion, needs outriggers, and the front horns are failing. Bulkhead is pretty good but the floors need replacement. Also owner thinks it is worth more ($4500) than market IMHO. Here it is for those looking to rescue.

Completely dreaming, who in gods name, and why, would one pay that amount for this ? Especially given the options...

                      Found at the Zoo!

Not quite a "rescue" candidate...but at the Dallas Zoo with my 8yr old, and she spotted a Ser3... she said "Hey dad, there's an oil-dripper like yours !"... I guess they do listen to the little things you say after all.

That's great... I look forward to that, must be a pretty neat perspective...perhaps correlation between being young and old with respect to valuing parental perspectives. I suspect when my other daughter (19) gets above 21, she'll also be able to see value in dad beyond the cheque book ... I recall an old Mark Twain quote something like :
"When I was only 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in only seven years."

I sold them to him for $1000. Yes he's dreaming all right. He seemed to know little to nothing about LRs. He probably thought he was on to something and he was robbing me! By the way, there were no titles for these two. Pretty much parts only.

A lot of the people I run into in the city while in my rover think they are worth their weight in gold for some reason. I tell them the real prices these go for and they never believe me, or think I am trying to modest. Same for my "eye-talian" motorcycles, the real cost is in the upkeep....
