So the owner of these stopped me the other day in my rover and seemed like an ok guy. He said he'd let them go for less, just wants them to go to someone who knows what they are.

        Another Rover to save

In my search for a Rover I came across this one that I'm going to pass on. It's on Block Island off the coast of Rhode Island. The owner has had it since 2001. He says it needs a frame and that the clutch will not disengage. He told me he put stainless exhaust, brake lines, tires, had the bulkhead repaired, etc over the course of his ownership. He has the top and doors for it and he also has a tailgate that is on it now. His name is Fred and you can reach him at 603-494-2756. He's asking $2200 for it. He's not good with a computer so he mailed me a few photos of it. I'm not going to chance driving 10 hours to pick it up but if you're close to RI maybe this would work for you........

            1964 Seres 2

The SWB series 2 been sitting same place since 1983.
80 year old lady wont sell because her son 1500 miles away wants to keep it but..... here it sits untouched...
I parked my series 3 there because the house was a little strange like it hasnt been fixed since 1983 also.... so the owner knew my business when I came into their yard...

So I've been between Rovers for a while now, I once had a 69 SII 88 and while it wasn't practical for daily use in the winter, it always made me smile when I drove it. I'm thinking about getting back in with that one there.

                Belize City

Two series rovers for sale on the western highway just outside of Belize City. I passed them while heading to the capital. Belize does have a cheap maritime shipping to Florida!

Series2a in Arabian desert for restoration

                  Hello,

This is my first post in this forum, I got land rover series2a requires complex restoration.

The owner claim it is military version, he called this truck "Dandan" where I like it .

My plan in this truck to use it in desert for moderate level of crossing where I do have doubt in 2.25L engine, I'm thinking in Toyota hilux 4clydr 2.7L petrol engine (it is available widely in our region) any advice any one tried it?

                  Thanks

Welcome! Others will be more helpful with any engine conversions, other than dimensional differences between the 2.25 and the Toyota engine you should post the power figures for the Toyota engine if you have them and folks on the forum will be able to help with any other modifications that may need to be done to the drive train!

Best of luck and take lots of pictures . . . we all love seeing pictures of other people's projects.

Here's another one ready for resurrection. I had committed to buy this from them for $1750 in early October. They came back to me and said that someone offered them $3500 for it so they were selling it to them. They contacted me yesterday offering it again for $1750. I guess the "deal" fell through.

It hasn't run in 10 years and has been sitting in a garage of some sort. The frame has been patched over the years and there is 10 years worth of mouse excrement throughout. The body isn't terrible and it has a winch that I think was installed when the Rover was new..... The owner said he had the engine rebuilt but that the last time he drove it, it was down on power and he thought he spun a bearing so he put it in the garage and didn't drive it again.

                        Awaaaaay she goes....

Having no room in the garage, and very little aptitude for trouble shooting and repairing all things mechanical - my "new" Barn Find (no name as yet) is on her way to the "Car Doctor"...

They will do a complete check up, repair anything to get her running well...then I will take over - hopefully by then i will have room in the garage!!

                            work

That was after my son and I spent a few hours cleaning out the years worth of dirt, mud, moths, stinkbugs, mice, chicken sh$$ and leaves...we only did it well enough so you wouldn't get dirty sitting in it - I expect to "de-panel" everything inside and do a very thorough cleaning, that will have it looking a lot better. Jury is still out on painting it, but I do have some surface rust to take care of with rustoleum.
