What did you do to your Rover today?

finally put the proper size tire on the bonnet.
looks kind of funny. but atleast if i get a flat i'll be able to drive it home

31 inch tire way up there
do they make a thinner 31 inch tire?

I kind of wish I could get a tire with a white stripe in the middle of the tire so it looked like there was a big Oreo on the bonnet. The one on your truck would be a double stuffed!

Running again

Thanks to Talbot. We went through and adjusted valves, timing, re-built the Weber and fired up my truck for the first time in over a year. It was music to my ears.
I just converted my truck over to a galvanized chasis, new suspension (para's), Salisbury etc. \

Pete had already done all the tough work.. I was just there to lend a hand.. Note to self.. make sure to double verify all push rods are seated fully seated in the lifters. How'd No. 2 get past us?
Pete have you figured out why your new distributor wobbles? Bent shaft?

I took my 9.5" inflatable out for a spin. I've been looking for a larger inflatable but i just love how it fits nicely into the back of Rex.

Used my IIa as a prop for Trunk or Treat at my church last night-the kids(and their Dads) loved it.

Drove down to the car was and washed the Moab mud out of the nooks and crannies. It was a bit wet at the LRNR. I love driving the Series - washing it was just the excuse.

My bulkhead is ready to go to the paint shop. Had a friend rework some seems and redo a few welds in the bulkhead I picked up last summer. Overall it was in pretty good shape but still needed some attention. This week I'll take it down to a friends shop for some fresh blue paint. Also having the brand new rad support painted and a few odd trim panels. I was contemplating doing the fenders and bonnet but I think that I'll leave them faded for now....the bulkhead door frames may stand out a little but I figure the truck will look a little odd if the front half is all nice fresh paint and the back half is not. I don't think i have the budget for a full respray right now. Hope the next pictures I post look less like this:

I have nicer wheels...and will obviously need tires....but thats the least of my worries at the moment. Since the top photo was taken I have installed a full exhaust. lots of odds and ends remaining...big things to do: body work obviously, wiring, and run new brake lines.

Came outside to find my Rover covered in mud and road sludge. And it has a blown exhaust.

This is what I get for loaning my truck to my brother for two weeks.

(I'm just jealous that I wasn't there on the trail with him)
