The last "repairs" were done last week at the annual state inspection. The local mechanic found loose nuts on the propshaft where it attaches to the transmission brake assembly, and loose nuts on a spring hanger plate. Otherwise, everything was fine. I need to replace the dodgy windshield wiper blades, but that's it for now.
During this week, the Rover has hauled a lot of firewood and served as my carpentry vehicle. I would like to swap out the canvas top for the safari top during the predicted "January thaw" next week.

Broke 100 KMH for the first time. Might even have gone over 110. I'm not sure - the adrenaline sort of got to me.
Granted it was dead calm, the truck was well warmed up and I had a nice long downhill on good pavement. Regardless, I got that cheating death rush out of it.
changed oil to amsoil and installed a filter.
installed axle breathers front and rear
new spark plugs and wires
tranny oil change
this week new recovery points front and rear
new diff protectors front and rear
new fairlead and mount
and last but not least 2 new rear axles!
New fluids for engine, gearbox, transfer case and swivels. Didn't have any gas at the ranch so air filter will get cleaned tomorrow after work (if I remember to bring home gas )
Will check tappets tomorrow night as well.
Checked plugs, good color and gap okay. Checked points, okay.
Installed power brake servo valve (I really don't like the new fangled angled valve with original master cylinder reservoir)
Fabricated mounts for 'new' front bumper from extra rear bumper off cancerous old chassis.
Went for a 70 mile spin out west past Hunt on Highway 39. A two lane blacktop next to the Guadalupe River maximum posted speed 55.
