    Vacuum Tubing

Just noticed the "joint" where my vacuum advance tube meets the Zenith carb is cracked. the "joint" is actually a small ruber/plastic type connector instead of the tube just slipping over a nipple on the carb. cant seem to find a replacement. Any ideas? Just get new tube and slip it over the nipple on the carb? Thanks for the help.

I think you are talking about standard vacuum line. Any parts place will have it by the foot. Cut off the old, slip on the new and presto.

Actually you can replace the steel line that runs around the engine between the carb and distributor with rubber line if you like. The steel line tends to rust and leak all by it's self. If you do this, just be sure to secure the rubber line so it doesn't end up melting on a hot spot or getting caught in the belts.

I had the exact same issue with my Series 3. Picked up a length of 5/32" I.D. rubber hose, snipped it to size, and all is well again.
