    Fun

Thanks for sharing the writeup, and the pictures. Sounded like a good trip. Every trip has to have a "something lost" twist and it was nice that the phone was recovered.

Sounds like a heck of a trip. If you've got more pictures please post them.

Are your 4WD shifters on the left side of the tunnel and/or was the truck originally LHD?

Could you hear the radio over the road/tire/engine/tranny/old age noise?

I love how the seller painted "for sale" from the inside of the truck so it read backwards to the world-definately a D'OH! moment.

If you haven't already found it, this site is for Overland/Expedition fans...and a pretty good group. www.expeditionportal.com/forum/index.php

By the nature of the linkage to the series transfer case the shifters have to be on the right of the tunnel cover no matter the steering installation. They are a lot more ergonomic to use from the RH seat.

that's what I thought and in looking closer to the pictures I think the shifters are where they belong, the perspective of the picture through me off. I agree they would be easier to reach from the left seat, but reverse must be a long reach!

Absolutely beautiful! I'm still restoring my 61 109 station wagon. Having kids really slowed that process down, but seeing your truck has really motivated me. What tires do you have on the truck? And what advice do you have for the bulkhead as far as wiring it all up properly?

            Thanks,
            Doug

It was a great trip! In 4th Rover Drive it wasn’t bad and I could hold a conversation with my buds and hear the radio pretty well. I also have the rubber floor mat system our host sells that seems to help a lot with noise and heat.

I will be sure to post some pictures for you. Thanks for the complement!

I forgot to mention in the write up... after reverse went out the next day i called George at Rovers Down South and he told me i needed to check the reverse stop adjustment and sure enough the nut cam off and the threaded stop had gone all the way in to the point reverse no longer worked! a small screw driver and a minute later and its back! I love this truck

What type of tires are those? Definity Dakota's? what size? The interior looks very similar to mine. I put a Tuffy trunk in the back as well. Had to locate the back seats about 3 inches farther back on an 88 to make it work.
