    Vacum advance 2.25

I am doing a rocheter install on my 2.25. I was visiting a friend with an old CJ and noticed he'd blocked his carb vacum advance port in favor of pulling it off the manifold. He suggested it was more direct?

Just curious... Anyone know of the advantages of one over the other?

I've tried both on my Rochester, couldn't tell a difference but was told by the mechanics here at work that it's best off the carb, can't remember why at the moment.
