      hey Jim -

I'm starting to rebuild my blue Rover finally, and have acquired yet another tropical top in the process.

I'm starting to get that 'you have too much stuff lying around' feeling, and I want the top gone.

Plus I don't like how I've been with some of this stuff - for example I drove to Michigan for this top so for two years I've been convincing myself I need to hang onto it for that reason. Material things are starting to get in the way, quite frankly.

Maybe I'll just throw this top on my limestone Rover and be done with it...

That's what I'd do if I wanted a hard top Rover.

Oh no, don't start with this recovery stuff now as I am about to list 3 trucks and a couple of skids full of engines & trannies...as soon as I figure out how to get photos up along with an add.......Maybe I'll call Thompson & he can help me...I'm mechanical, but lack compuker skills........as if it doesn't show..........donnie
OH, b4 anyone asks, I want to sell all to 1 buyer, 2 roll back loads..I don't have time or desire to part them out
I spent most of my money on women & cars, the rest of it I just wasted.......

still available. No, I don't have pictures yet...sorry. It's up north, I'm in Boston.

It's a trop top and the only distinguishing mark on it is the hole I mentioned

I'm looking to unload a trop top I bought about 2 years ago - great condition but missing headliner and has a small 1" hole centered in front where an antenna must have been. Not sure of current value of these things, so I guess I'll do best offer for now?

                      Thanks...
Does anyone want to disclose what the trop top was sold for?
I have a 109 trop top with a built in roof rack, the PO was a welder & removed the jungle top and mounted the roof rack to the roof then reinstalled the top skin , I want to sell it but do not know what it is worth. Donnie

The general public who are not familiar with Rovers seem to think that they are made out of gold. So you often find old rovers rusted into oblivion without a single salvageable part and an owner who wants $8000 because they know these things sell for a lot.....reality being its worth about $50 of scrap metal.

So as the adage goes, "the parts you want to sell are only worth what some one is willing to pay for it". You are welcome to ask $1000 for a roof top but if no one ever buys it then it does you no good. if you get $250 for it then that's $250 in your pocket and 1 roof top that you no longer have to store.

guess I went too round about in saying that the value of your roof will depend on what someone will be willing to pay you for it.

Bostonian - I believe that Mongoswede was referencing Donnie's question about the 109 roof Donnie wants to sell.
