Hello.. I'm getting close to starting my 2.25L shortblock build up.
Looking at the LR parts book it indicates there is what appears to be a head or gasket alignment dowel? See highlighted scan below.
The following pics are of my engine and head during teardown. .. There does not ever seem to have been dowel there? Am I missing a part?
The last few pics are of stripped the block at the engine shop. ...also no dowel seen, but there is a small hex headed plug? that was skimmed down when the block was surfaced. ??
My new Turner head doesn't have a dowel either
