      Jack: PM returned.

For those people who are wondering about a build date, each tire is stamped. Most of them are from Dec. 2008 and others are from early 2009.

I would love to get these things out of my way. I am not in the tire business, nor do I want to be. I ended up with these things from a business deal and I would love to get them sold.

      Thanks.

To help out with shipping costs for people, I am now offering sets of 5 for $300. That is as low as I can go.

I want these things gone as I need the room.

          Roverjohn,

Do you have any of these left lying around?

Yes, I have a few sets left. 5 or 6 sets maybe....I will have to recount. $300 for a set of 5.

            Thanks,
            John

total newb question here, but aren't the OG rims that we all run on our series two-piece and require tubes?

i'm getting one of these bridgestones as my spare from john (which is tubeless), but i'm not sure if i should also order the tube for the old school rim...

The Series rims are meant to have tubes and I have tried to run tubes in a tubeless tyre, but I had allot of punctures , no foreign objects (I been told by a tyre specialist that it's because of the grooves on the inside of the tubeless tyre). So I removed the tubes and I have not had any punctures since. The reason that the original rims need tubes, is due to the lack of a bead / edge that prevents the tire from popping off the rim, when the tire pressure is decreased, for example when sand driving. The second reason is that a riveted rim is not always quite air tight, which I've never experienced in my 21 years with Land Rovers.

There are specific tubes for biased ply, and radial ply. I have run tubes on most landies that I keep for a while, and Never had a flat related to tube fit. It is necessary that there be a "Flap" around the ID of the rim before puting a tube on.

I don't know if they haveradial tubes in europe, whenever I mention radial tubes to a european they think I am crazy. There are definitely radial tubes in North America though.

I have seen tubes fail because of a tiny label inside a tire so if you do fit them make sure there are no tags inside and that you use plenty of talc.

Talc is a must I have found over the years with any tube. Keeps the rubber from sticking inside over time. Heat can be generated within tube/tire combo. I have had to do field repairs before and fixing a tubeless with a 15 dollar Wal-Mart kit still on the rim sure is a lot easier than taking a bead off and patching a tube. If its really far gone, that what the spare if for.
