Cleaned the Gray Rover Today - Pics

It's warming up and I figured it was time to remove the two tons of sap/mold that was on the paint.........a lot of the gray came off very easily I guess because it was so badly oxidized. Check out how nicely the inside cleaned up though and the shine on the outside.........it's going to be a really nice truck Sorry for the marginal pics....I only had my camera phone

lol no way! I'm getting really attached to this one.........it's cleaning u p really nicely. Next time I'm up I'm really going to put the effort into getting the engine turned over. It's really fun bringing something like this back to life...

oh it's a very special Canadian liquid wrench that actually works better on me than the truck lol

Why is the front bumper twisted up and the front wheel so far forward? Have you checked the front horns of the frame? Looks like the one on this side might have taken a vacation...

oh yeah the frame is an absolute goner.....the wheel being so far forward is from transport on the ramp truck. When cinching the truck down, instead of it pulling tight, the axle just started moving forward on its own since the frame rot was so bad. We are actually concerned about moving it when it comes time to replace the frame - I don't want it to break in two and ruin the body The bumper is twisted upward from transport as well. In fact, if I put all of my weight on that bumper, it would probably just fall off

That's okay then, so long as you know about it.. I was afraid you were going to get her running and take if for the obligatory spin down the road.

As for moving it, if you are going to be tugging it then tie a rope around the rear axle run it under the truck and just loop it around the front axle and tug away. That should work, eh?

Brakes could lock up on you before you get to moving it into position for the frame over. I can just see a rope attached to the truck pulling the truck, but leaving the axles behind.

I'd leave multiple pieces of gray Rover on the road if I took it for the obligatory drive down the road. That's if the engine turned over (still soaking it in penetrating oil). I suppose that makes the most sense- rope around both axles. From what I heard about the move to get it to its current location, the rear wheels were locked up but the fronts turned. It's currently in a somewhat muddy spot, and I'm afraid if it gets left there it's going to sink so I'd like to move it (not to mention it's in a field that is shared with cows in the summer - just imagine them eating my taillights and steering wheel, etc ). Where to, I'm not sure. The other location that I can put it drops giant acorns in the fall that have seriously dented cars that were left there before....so I'll have to figure out where I'm really hoping I can put the money together this summer for the frame over

I think the real worry is what the cows will do to the truck once they see the Naugahyde seats!!!

lol. cow rebellion! I thought the seats were a faux material, no? I thought "elephant hyde" was just a vinyl...

these cows have actually head-butted another truck on the farm, putting a huge head-size dent in it. They also ate all of the parts off an old Barracuda (vinyl roof-yum), and rubbed up against various other cars doing a number on them. They're not getting near this Rover
