    Cylinder Head Work

I am cleaning up a 8:1 head to put on my 109 which currently has the 7:1 head. I will do a 3 angle valve job and general cleanup while its out. Also Plan on checking for warp etc. What is the max amount of material that can come off the combustion side of the head if I have to deck it?

    See Terri Ann's FAQs:

    --Mark

    1973 SIII 109 RHD 2.5NA Diesel

0-54mph in just under 11.5 minutes
    (9.7 minutes now that she's a 3-door).

actually I found some useful info on that part of her site that I must have missed before:

"According to Pat Young, if an 8:1 head has not been cut before, 0.020 in. is close to raising the compression from 8:1 to 9:1"

.020" is probably a good amount to use as a max.
