Trans popping out of third gear

Hi
I have a 1963 series IIA. It pops out of third gear sometimes. It's been my experience that normally when you accelerate and let off the throttle quickly if it's going to pop out it it will do it then. Mine pops out sometimes when I'm braking and almost to a stop.
