    Hoisting a Series engine

Where are the safest points to lift a Series motor with an engine hoist?

There should be a lifting ring on the front and rear of the head just for this.

Duh, thanks I'll look for those in the grime and grease when I get home.

I used the front ring and a strap around the transmission....but I lifted the entire drivetrain out at once when I did mine.

Transmission is already out but I might put them back in together.

If you don't have the lifting rings, I just use a bolt into one of the lifting ring holes and a big washer to prevent the chain from coming off the bolt. never had that setup fail even under less than ideal circumstances jostling engines around on all kinds of surfaces.

Nice sticker under the bonnet, for photographic purposes only?

What better place to put the phone numbers you may very well need when the hood is up!

Thats right, it is like emergency roadside assistace numbers! Hood is up, number is there, overnight shipping, all is good!

No lifting rings in place on my block but there is a nice Ike bracket in that front hole.

Guess Dave's bolt method it is!

The RN sticker was in place when I bought the truck. It appears to be an older style sticker. Doesn't look like the other one I have stuck to the front cover of my green bible.
