Anyone have a good suggestion for a Series Jack to keep in the LR other than a Hi-Lift type. Never see the originals come up for sale. I need one that will enable me to change tires and/or put LR on jack stands. Bottlejack? Brand? Discovery jack? Etc? Thank you.

Go to a u pull it junk yard and look around. A bottle jack from a Discovery or Range Rover would be fine, the old Ford truck ones would probably work fine too. I don't think I have ever paid more than $5-10 for one.

Around home I use a floor jack rather than screw around with bottle jacks. -
I have a 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, and it has a mechanical jack that looks like it would be perfect for the Land Rover. It is short when fully collapsed, has a 'cradle' at the top, and extends quite far. It should also be cheap at a wrecking yard. They are located under the passenger side front seat in case you go to a you-pull-it place.Comment

I have some originals if you want one. I like em, hydraulic is nice, until they leak oil all over your tool compartment and its contents. The original screw jacks work pretty wellComment

I bought a $25 bottle jack at Advanced Auto Parts that looks identical to what I remember having in my Disco...
It works great, even with 32" tires and parabolics - no problem lifting a wheel off the ground.
You can also throw the winch line over a tree limbComment
