    manual start switch

Dumb question, how how do you remove the manual start switch from the bulkhead. The truck was updated to a solenoid valve and I'm trying to get it off without breaking it.
    Thanks

It's been a while but if I remember right you remove the knob and there is a nut that you unthread. Pull the switch out from the engine side. Disconnect all the battery connections first of course....

Does the knob just pull off. I yarned on it a little and it didn't seem to want to budge. Not knowing exactly how it came apart I didn't want to break it.

It just unscrews from the shaft. There is a jam nut just behind the knob. Either hold the shaft with a pair of plyers or try to get a wrench on the jam nut. The shaft will spin if you just try to unscrew the knob, unless the jam nut isn't tight (like mine).

What he said above. The P.O. may have put some locktite on the threads, so try and fit the wrench onto the jam nut to improve your chances of getting it off.

I have this removed. I misunderstood one of the pirst post and tried to pry off the knob. After a little feeling around I figured it out.
            Thanks
