    rearmost xmember rotted

My frame and rearmost xmember are rotted from rearmost tub mount back, but, i was wondering if i could possibly cut this section of frame off of my parts truck(my uncle gave it to my grandpa after cracking the frame under the seats somehow) and weld it in place, would this be possible? or am i better off patching the frame? i cant afford the replacements sold on our hosts site, or i would go that route

Just splice a 1/4 frame in. Been done many times by others. If it's that bad you'll just be patching over patches and have far more work into it.

Make sure you measure very carefully before you so it, I have even heard of folks who leave the tub in place so they can use that to tack weld the back half of the chassis in the correct spot.

In measuring carefully definitely note angles and so forth so that you know that you are getting the new chassis bit in the exact right spot.
