    Pic request SIII hand throttle

I have the hand throttle in the cab for a SIII but not the linkage under the dash. A local club member was kind enough to give me the rod that extends all the way across the engine compartment but I can't figure out how to make it all work? Perhaps I am still missing some parts and hoping someone has an SIII hand throttle.

    Thanks,
    G

If it's like mine, there should be a levered arm mounted to the far end of the rod and to that should be a hook which goes through the dash and sits on a threaded seat. I'll post some pictures in a bit. Just not near the truck right now.

It is like that but when the levered arm is bolted tight it does not let the gas pedal move up and down. I'm missing something or don't have something hooked up right. I have never been able to find a manual or instructions on the set-up.

          Here you go:

It sounds like you might have the connection behind the dash too tight or wrong. It should allow you to press the peddle without affecting the idle speed.

          No peddle:

With the peddle down you should see this joint open:

That set-up is totally different than mine?

G, get in touch with "JimMe" on this board, he just put one in and I think he has some pics, or I'm sure he'd send them.

Mine was a quadrant type that I modified to use a cable instead of the linkage. Sorry but I don't think my pictures would do you much good but I'd gladly send if you want them.

                  ^^Jim-
I would be interested in seeing the cable arrangement, especially at the carb. I've been thinking about using a spare choke cable assembly for a hand throttle.
                  Thanks.

Mine is mounted on a diesel. I purchased a Defender diesel hand throttle kit for a 2.5 NA from PA Blanchard in England and modified the cable assembly to work on my hand throttle. I'll gladly send pictures if you would like them.

^^Thanks for the offer Jim. Sounds like they are completely different animals though.
