I wonder how many folks see those videos and think, "I can't believe they went out to that area with such small tires!!"
I get a big kick out of driving past modern jeeps with V8's and monster mudder tires with my bone stock 47 CJ2A (flathead 4 cyl and 6.00x16 NDT tires) when they're stuck in a mudhole and I just keep chugging along. So much for modern "upgrades".

I have trundled on past many big tired rigs through snow with my 215's. I would use skinnier if I could get them (within reason). I have extricated many vehicles twice my rover's size in the snow.
It looks to me like most of these trucks are essentially stock vehicles. No lift kits, huge tires,,..
BTW the truck leading up the ravine looks like a bronco to me. I'm sure a scout would have done just as well (better in my opinion I've owned each).

Looks like a postal convoy got misdirected delivering mail from Barstow to Vegas, with a few FJ's and Bronco's thrown in... Now take the bikini and the Guns N Roses and you have the makings a fine beer ad!!!
